KES Weekly Updates: Monday and Tuesday will be NWEA testing for 2nd through 5th grade. Wednesday, October 18th will be an early release day. There will be NO ASP or Cub Care on this day. Thursday, October 19th KES will be having the food pantry at the KES bus garage starting at 2:30. There will be a school committee meeting at 5:00 in the KES cafeteria. There will be No ASP or Cub Care on this day. A new school rule will be put into effect on Monday, October 16th. There will be NO Pokemon cards allowed at school. Thank you for your help in keeping them at home. ASP Announcement: If your child is interested in attending Big Rock downhill skiing they must be registered with the After School Program. To ride the bus independently from KES they must be in grades 3-4 or 5. Big Rock requires you to complete a liability waiver and rental agreement for your child before they can downhill ski. The liability waiver and rental agreement can be found on Big Rock website. Downhill skiing will begin in January 2024 for Katahdin students. Representatives from Big Rock Mountain will be scheduling a measurement/ equipment fitting at Katahdin Schools. At that time the liability waiver and equipment rental must be completed before your child can be measured and fitted for equipment. We will let you know when Big Rock is coming to measure and do the equipment fitting. Thank-you for your attention to this opportunity for your child.

KES Weekly Updates: Monday, October 9th there will be no school in observance of Indigenous People's Day. Thursday, October 12th we will be having our student flu clinic. ASP ANNOUNCEMENT: On Weds. Oct. 11th the Maine Bike Coalition is visiting KES/After School Program. They are making an obstacle course in the parking lot near the KES bus garage. If your child is registered for the After School Program and interested in this activity, they have received a letter asking you to bring their bike and helmet to the KES bus garage on Weds. Oct. 11th. by 2 p.m. A liability waiver for you to complete and return by Weds. morning Oct. 11th has also been given to your child. KES Weekly Updates: Last week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students participated in their MOEP biking and canoeing field trips. A fun time was had by all. This week our 4th and 5th grade students will visit the orchard with Miss Gabrielle in the All About Food specials to pick apples for upcoming activities. Friday, October 6th, there will be no school due to Teacher's workshop. There will be no school on Monday, October 9th, in observance of Indigenous People's Day.

KES Updates: Monday, September 25, grade 5 will be going on their Maine Outdoor Education Program biking trip. Thursday, September 28, is school picture day. Friday, September 29, grades 3 and 4 will be going on their Maine Outdoor Education Canoeing trip.

Not only are we having our annual BBQ (hosted at KMHS this year) with all families from RSU 89 welcome, but KMHS will also have our annual Open House that same evening. We hope to see you there!
