Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. Our National Honor Society members at KMHS were able to be part of the ceremony this past Saturday to Remember, Honor, and Teach about veterans and their contribution to our country. Thank you to all who serve and have served.

High School artists created realistic drawings of their favorite candy. Students had to think about the arrangement of their composition and arranged their candy before taking a picture of it. Students learned to digitally grid their pictures before realistically drawing them using a gridding drawing process. Students were inspired by the artist Marcello Barenghi who create realistic 3D drawings of everyday objects.

Hey Parents of 10th and 11th graders! See the link below for the BigFuture Scholarship info. BigFuture rewards you for planning for life after high school. No essay, minimum GPA, test score, or citizenship requirements, BigFuture makes it easy to enter drawings each month to win scholarship money, just complete unlocked steps on your dashboard and you'll be automatically entered to win (one step completed = one entry each month). Students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year receive two entries each drawing. https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/pay-for-college/bigfuture-scholarships?SFMC_cid=EM859402-&rid=381050682. At last week's school board meeting, I reported that KMHS student council collected over 150 food items for the food pantry during the Thanksgiving food drive. That was an UNDERSTATEMENT! Overall, KHS donated 347 non-perishable food items to the food pantry at the United Methodist Church in Patten :). The ladies that received the food were very appreciative and had tears in their eyes when we brought all of the food in. WAY TO GO KHS STUDENTS!!!!

7th Grade artists at KMHS explored different methods of drawing pumpkins. From their drawings, they created a collage version using colored paper. Artists then used a variety of patterns using lines with markers in each section to create contrast. Shoutout to Mrs. Howes for drawing out the artists in our students!
