In guidance, our kindergarteners talked about the power of our words and how they can affect others. They learned that once a heart is wrinkled with unkind words, it’s hard to make it smooth again… a great reminder to always speak with kindness!

The middle school outdoor education class participated in an experiment with Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. Students were transported to Lunksoos Boat Launch to do a Dragonfly Mercury experiment. Students geared up in waders and boots to collect specimens from the water to catalogue and examine. The students worked with KAWW staff and were able to collect a number of dragonfly larvae, as well as discover some other species of pond life they had not seen before.

Our 3rd graders discovered where water sits in our natural environment. They concluded that slopes, angles, gravity, and absorption all play a role. They were great scientists!

Our 3rd graders engaged in a fun activity to practice their first long vowel spelling patterns. They are currently learning that words have to ā€˜look right,’ not just sound right. Students marked squares with the spelling patterns and identified each long Aa pattern in the given words. They enjoyed jumping to the matching pattern and checking their work.
