On April 2nd Katahdin Middle High School participated in the Choices Matter Program. The speaker Ethan Fisher captivated the audience with his personal story and then the students were able to use impaired googles to walk the line and the driving simulator. Choices Matter partners with The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety. Be sure to ask your students about this opportunity they got to experience.

In 2022, Maine became one of the first states to pass legislation providing free school meals. Today on Maine Calling, a Maine Public radio production, a panel discussed how that is working, what has been done to improve and diversify school nutrition, and what's still needed to meet the needs of childhood hunger. Denise Tapley Proctor, food service director at RSU 89, was featured as a VIP caller! The link to the audio is posted here: https://www.mainepublic.org/show/maine-calling/2024-03-29/school-nutrition Or you can tune it at 7pm!
