After finishing The Crucible, Mrs. DeTour’s American Literature class participated in a culminating activity called tableau vivant, meaning “living picture.” Students worked collaboratively to recreate key moments from the play—carefully selecting each person’s position, posture, and expression to capture character, emotion, and relationship. In these silent, frozen scenes, their performances brought the story’s most intense moments of tension and emotional conflict vividly to life.

14 Katahdin High School students attended a program called Access to Justice in Bangor on Wednesday. This event was sponsored by the Maine School of Law and The Maine Bar Association. Our students participated in a Mock Trial with Maine Supreme Court Justice Anderew Mead presiding, where they got to adjudicate the outcome of the trial. They also took part in a 1st year law class lecture. This was a great educational opportunity for our students. Students were also filmed for the news on WABI regarding this experience.
