Mrs. Hanson and the 8th grade exploration science class partnered with community members and local community organizations, The Lumbermen’s Museum, Patten Area Outdoors (PAO), Elliotsville Foundation Inc., and Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters on Friday, December 9th to help prepare a community walking trail behind The Lumbermen’s Museum. The day was a huge success. A special thank you to all of those involved and making this connection happen. It certainly takes a village. It’s great to see our youth connecting to their community and learning life-long skills along the way

High School artists created realistic drawings of their favorite candy. Students had to think about the arrangement of their composition and arranged their candy before taking a picture of it. Students learned to digitally grid their pictures before realistically drawing them using a gridding drawing process. Students were inspired by the artist Marcello Barenghi who create realistic 3D drawings of everyday objects.
