Reminder: there is NO ASP today at the elementary school due to tonight's art show and spring concert (May 6). Students should arrive by 5:30. After viewing the amazing artwork students should sit with their class in the gym for the duration of the concert. Hope to see you there!

After School Program students explored the Challenger Learning Center. Students were immersed in STEM experiences that inspire teamwork, creativity, and future-ready skills one mission at a time.

Just a reminder that the last day of After School Program is May 12th. We hope to see you all at the Variety Show at 6:00 on May 14th!

Author and illustrator, Angeli Perrow, was our guest at KES Thursday. Students were excited to meet the author of several puzzling mysteries including a book about a Maine lighthouse and another about Fort Knox. We look forward to second visit next week.

Mt Chase Lodge and OSI will be hosting the Muddy KAT on Saturday May, 2nd and will include 3 races: 9 am Kids Puddle Dash, 9:30 am Mini Mud 1k and 10 am 5k Mud Run (solo or 2 person relay). This race is part of a volunteer weekend to clean up trails at the Lumberman’s museum, Peavey Brook Outdoor Center and Mt Chase Lodge. Hope to see you there!

On Tuesday, April 7, seven students were inducted into the National Honor Society. These students have demonstrated excellence in the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. The three seniors were also recognized and honored for their contributions. Congratulations to all involved!

Fourth-grade students went on a field trip to The Orchard, where they had the opportunity for outdoor learning and were able to dissect owl pellets.

The Katahdin Schools Middle School Outdoor Education program took full advantage of the beautiful weather by cooking hot dogs over the fire and gathering fire starter materials. Hands-on learning, teamwork, and enjoying the outdoors—doesn’t get much better than that!

Sherman Rec is hosting 8th Grade Formal for students grade 6-8th on May 2nd.
