Our Financial Literacy students put their skills to work by creating and presenting realistic budgets designed to help them understand what it takes to live independently after graduation. A great opportunity to build important real-world financial skills and prepare for life beyond high school!
On Thursday afternoon, novelist Cathie Pelletier visited Block 4 English classes at KMHS. Ms. Pelletier, who was born and raised in Allagash, talked about her experiences growing up in northern Maine, her journey as a writer, and the inspiration behind her novels. Students had the opportunity to learn more about her writing process and her latest novel, Evangeline’s Journey. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to meet a famous Maine author and hear firsthand about the craft of writing.
Our Food Pantry is today Sept 17th 3:00-4:00 at the KES bus garage. Please arrange for food bags to be picked up at school.
There is a benefit dinner (by donation) for Deanne Campbell at the KES cafeteria Saturday Sept 19th 3:00-6:00.
Today, September 16th , is an early release day for Katahdin Schools. Students are released at 11:15.

KES Kindergarten Jump Start celebrated the end of our time together with a Teddy Bear Picnic! We had snacks, hula hoops, bubbles, played leap frog, played with our favorite stuffed animals, and enjoyed being in our school apple orchard!
