What an amazingly talented group of students we have here at KMHS! Students in Mr. Roy's and Mrs. Simpson's music classes showed off their musical prowess at the holiday concert this evening. There was also a phenomenal turnout by community--thank you to EVERYONE who came out for the festive concert!




Congratulation to our young performers! The KES winter concert was a wonderful display of hard work and dedication. A special thank you to the music and band teacher, Miss Kalyn Simpson, and Peter Roy, who worked the sound system. It was a pleasure to celebrate the holiday season with our KES families and community!

Katahdin Middle School's ELA classes had the opportunity to submit creative writing pieces for the Young Writers' Twisted Tales contest. Four students were chosen to have their work published in their Adventures Through Imagination publication. Congratulations to these talented writers!




Friday's PJ Day had high school showing some holiday AND school spirit at KMHS!




Decking the Halls and Trimming the trees has been an after school project for our creative HS students here at KMHS. The holiday themes show their creativity and spirit of the holidays!

Thank you to all of the students, staff, and community members that made our first annual Festival of Trees such a joyful event! There were 18 trees set up and raffled. All proceeds will go directly to the student activities fund and support student learning!

KMHS Sophomores put on a holiday movie night last Friday as a class fundraiser--good times were had by all! Thank you to Mrs. Birmingham and the sophomore crew for putting on this community event!



Mrs. Hanson and the 8th grade exploration science class partnered with community members and local community organizations, The Lumbermen’s Museum, Patten Area Outdoors (PAO), Elliotsville Foundation Inc., and Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters on Friday, December 9th to help prepare a community walking trail behind The Lumbermen’s Museum. The day was a huge success. A special thank you to all of those involved and making this connection happen. It certainly takes a village. It’s great to see our youth connecting to their community and learning life-long skills along the way



Today's High School Boys games at Hodgdon have been postponed. No make-up date rescheduled as off yet. The JV boys will practice this afternoon from 4-6 and Varsity boys will practice from 6-8.
The High School Girls games for Dec 20th against SACHS have been moved back a half hour as well. JV will be played at 5:00. Varsity at 6:30. Bus will now leave Patten at 3:45 and Sherman at 4:00.
