A perfect day on the East Branch at Penobscot River Trails! Third through fifth graders had the experience of a lifetime out on the river; hot sun, cool water, and lots of smiles. It was a sweet, skill-building kind of day, and we’re grateful for this opportunity!

This morning we celebrated our amazing seniors with one last breakfast together as a class. Laughter, memories, and full plates filled the room as we kicked off the final countdown to graduation! 💙💛

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to cancel the spring production of The Secret Garden that was scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th.
(2) Elementary Teachers
Yesterday, our 3rd and 5th graders spent the day at Giles Pond for our Hooked On Fishing field trip! With support from our wonderful local game wardens, students learned how to fish, practice their casting, and for some, caught a fish for the very first time!
We are incredibly grateful to the game wardens who helped make this experience possible and gave our students such a memorable outdoor learning opportunity.
Katahdin High School is proud to announce the Class of 2025 Valedictorian, Emma Schmidt, and Salutatorian, Josh Martin. These outstanding students have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication throughout their high school careers.
Graduation ceremonies will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Congratulations to Emma, Josh, and the entire graduating class!

Summer Academy applications are being accepted now. Please contact Cheryl by calling the school at 207-365-4285 or emailing canderson@rsu89.org or Gail Pocock at gpocock@rsu89.org for an enrollment form. Completed forms are due by May 30th. No applications will be accepted after that date.
Budget Meeting 5/27/25. All residents are encouraged to attend.
Important Upcoming Dates! There are several field trips for individual grades so please make sure you are checking for and returning field trip forms. Teachers will be sharing details on what each grade has planned for end of year celebrations.
NHS Beautifies Patten for Memorial Day Weekend 🌼
Members of the National Honor Society planted flowers around the town of Patten yesterday in preparation for Memorial Day. Be sure to check out their beautiful work as you pass through town this weekend!
Katahdin's Drama Club presents the production of The Secret Garden adapted by Gary Peterson on Wednesday, June 11 at 6:00PM at the KMHS Auditorium. Please come and support our students and have a night of entertainment.
