This special celebration is in honor of our Katahdin students’ summer learning—and it’s all free! We encourage all RSU 89 community members to attend the upcoming District Budget Meeting on Wednesday, July 9th at 5:00 PM in the Katahdin Elementary School Cafeteria. This is an important opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, and be involved in decisions that impact our schools and students. Bring family and friends to vote yes to pass our school budget.

Congratulations to the 2025 winners of Katahdin's Art Show. Their artwork will be on display at Katahdin Trust in Patten this summer.

Katahdin's Art Club made Mini Canvas to display this summer at Veterans' Memorial Library in Patten. The canvas relates to the library's summer reading program for kids. The theme this summer is "Level Up." The pieces will be on display all summer amongst the shelves so please visit the library and check out the artwork and a book or two.

Mount Chase Lodge is hosting an important community meeting on June 13th at 7:15 pm to discuss fundraising efforts for Patten's Memorial Library. Your support can help make a difference! Desserts and beverages will be available.

🎉 The last regular day of school is in the books, and we celebrated in style with a school-wide BBQ! 🍔🌭🍦 Students and staff came together to enjoy good food, sunshine, and great company as we wrap up the year and head into finals. 💪📚 Let’s finish strong, everyone! 💥 A huge thank you to Deven Tarr and Jim Parker for manning the grill and Denise and her kitchen staff for making today possible.

A perfect day on the East Branch at Penobscot River Trails! Third through fifth graders had the experience of a lifetime out on the river; hot sun, cool water, and lots of smiles. It was a sweet, skill-building kind of day, and we’re grateful for this opportunity!
